On Tuesday 31st May 2011 we had our Ofsted inspection awarding us a GOOD evaluation in all areas at Mulberry.

We are all very proud of the closing statement by the Ofsted Officer Moira Oliver.

Children are cared for in an exceptionally warm, calm and caring environment where the staff are genuinely interested in them and their lives outside the setting. They are treated with kindness and respect, providing good role models for the children to follow. Simple, age-appropriate explanations are given to the children to support them to manage their own behaviour. They are encouraged to be kind to each other, share the toys, and staff support them to take turns on the bicycles. Children play extremely well together, cooperating and negotiating and building close friendships.

Other Ofsted comments include:
Children are happy, have fun and settle with ease in the welcoming, inviting and inspiring setting.
Children's health is supported well and very effective systems ensure that they are safe and secure.
Children enjoy a healthy diet of freshly cooked meals and they incorporate their own allotment produce as much as possible. Children's good health and wellbeing is promoted.

The manager has high aspirations for the quality of the service they provide and inspires the staff to consistently reflect on their practice. Morale is very high and all the staff are proud of their nursery.

The Kindergarten has also completed the Suffolk Quality Assurance Scheme

Kim Shotter is our Early Years Manager has already attained a Degree in Childcare and is currently completing her Early Years Practitioner Status. The EYP is the Gold Standard for those working with children under 5.
