Following our successful bid Mulberry has been awarded a special grant from the Suffolk Education Authority and planning permission from Suffolk Coastal Planning to open our new Mulberry Arts Centre. This grant combined with private investment will enable us to offer more flexible arrangements and extended services in our Arts Centre building. Building of the project commences in January 2008 and we will update this site with our opening date as soon as we have more information.

Mulberry Arts will offer an all year round art and culture club through extended places being offered for those parents who require both a school holiday service for 5-13 years or term time service for 3-5 years olds.

During school holidays we will offer an arts and culture club for up to 12 children ages 5-13.

During term time we will offer 12 full time spaces for 3-5 year old children as an extension to the Kindergarten.
These 12 additional spaces would offer early education sessions in our full day care provision or for sessional care from 9-3pm during term times.

This new Art Centre building will enable us to offer Art & Culture projects to extend our existing portfolio of activities currently available.

These arts activities include:
Cookery          Tai-chi
Drama             Dance & Movement
Music               Singing
Painting           Craftwork
Computer IT    Games
Gardening        Sports
Recording Filming & Editing

We would also further develop our outings for all age groups with local trips to Rendlesham forest and Snape nature trails,
Picnics at Aldeburgh beach,
Theatre & music trips,
Zoo & animal trips,
Swimming & water sports,
Sports, rounders, games using our local facility at Tunstall Community centre.
A walking bus will be organised from our Mulberry Art Centre to the Tunstall Community Centre premises where various sports and outdoor activities will take place outdoors and indoors.

Mulberry Arts has two vehicles fully insured to carry up to 11 children to other outdoor venues including Snape Maltings, Tunstall & Rendlesham forests, Aldeburgh beach, Thorpeness, Minismere, Sutton Hoo, Easton Farm Park and all local activity centres.

Mulberry has been allocated an allotment by the Blaxhall Parish Council committee and further regular trips are to be arranged to develop our gardening project area from Spring 2008.

Mulberry Gardeners will grow their own vegetables and cultivate other flowers, fruit and shrubs in a gardening project to encompass the involvement of all ages.

We aim to give every child the opportunity to develop and learn through free play and structured learning activities with emphasis on the arts. These cultural activities we believe help to develop the use of language and expression, imagination and creativity, the understanding of concepts, social awareness, including multicultural awareness, team skills, co-operation and self esteem.

We strongly believe in the importance of learning other musical & drama activities including piano, recorder, percussion and singing lessons in association with dance movement and including tai chi both indoors and outdoors. We aim to create an atmosphere of love and security where children feel free to explore and be creative.

We believe children have absorbent minds with natural curiosity and enthusiasm which we aim to encourage and develop.

To try is to believe that you can do it!
